2006 Christmas Party

Bigger than last year!

Once again the Hearts of Fire perfectly decorated The Hall and the event was even bigger & better than last year. Stephanie Bourg, Kim Mouton, and Harriet Chauvin were tasked with decorating and preparation but were assisted by Kurt, Donny & Elliot. Doyle Boudreaux of Team Inferno prepared the awesome Jambalaya and sides. David Mouton treated the children to Mouton's world famous hot dog chili, curiously served with the entire wiener! Several adults were also seen sampling Mouton's chili.

John Bourgeois favored us with an opening prayer to remind everyone the reasons for the season. Great job John! This year Noel's professional photography studio was on hand for family portraits and candid shots with Santa.

Last years successful formula was a hit again. Santa Ritchey arrived on Engine #9 with the lights flashing and all the kids ran outside to see him arrive. He emerged from the truck with one gift sack and went inside where he somehow produced a gift for every child as they were called up by one of Santa's elves to sit on his lap.

Huge Success & new annual event!!!

The 1st Annual Christmas Party was bigger and better than anyone could have hoped but the party was the Auxiliary's idea and they took charge of the event. The saying "deck the halls" did not go unheard as they expertly decorated the Hall for Christmas all afternoon. Meanwhile Team Inferno prepared a wonderful meal of Jambalaya, smothered potatoes with sausage and garlic & herb bread.

Everyone enjoyed the meal and the children filled the hall with Christmas cheer as we waited for Santa to arrive. Santa finally did arrive on Engine #9 with all the lights flashing as they drove up the dark driveway providing an awesome light show for the kids. The children could not believe Santa was here and had gifts for all no less. The party moved inside as every child and some adults were treated to a moment on Santa's lap and a present.

This success of this party makes it undoubtedly a new annual event. See you next year!
