2005 - Firefighters Golf Championship October 27, 2005 Donald Chauvin Club Champion / Gross Division Actual score Ronald Breaux First Place / Retiree Division Handicap applied Blaise Bourgeois First Place / Net Division Handicap applied Our 2005 Golf Championship was held at the Farm Golf Club of Carencro. Club Chairman Steve Spain organized what will surely go down as the greatest golf outing ever with 42 firefighters, retirees and former firefighters in attendance. Steve gathered enough door prizes for everyone and trophies for each division. Prizes were given out to all who attended but the 8 putters with the Professional Firefighters Union Logo were the hot item everyone wanted followed by the 15 divot tools with a similar logo. Everyone also got a ditty bag which contained a logo ball for every three rounds played in the past five years. There were 150 dozen balls in the prize kitty as well as many donated items to chose from. Following the tournament the awards ceremony and dinner were held at the Hall with a Union meeting immediately after. What better way to make a great outing even better than great food. William Ritchey, John Thevenet, Billy Dore and Clay Judice cooked the meal of Jambalaya, green beans with potatoes, and French bread. Many guests commented that the Jambalaya and beans may have been the best they had ever eaten. Great Job!!!
