Local # 619 membership is available to all classified members of the Lafayette Fire Department and is affiliated with the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) and the Professional Fire Fighters Association of Louisiana (PFFA of LA). Oath: New members must recite the oath at a regular Union meeting. Do you of your own free will, do sincerely promise to abide by the laws of the International Association of Fire Fighters and Local 619? Do you promise that you will never knowingly wrong a brother, or see him wronged, if it is in your power to prevent it? Do you further solemnly promise to never become faithless to your obligation? You are now members of the International Association of Fire Fighters and I give you my right hand in full acknowledgement thereof. Dues: Currently $ 15.93 / Mth. Monthly dues are based on 1% of the base pay for an entry level Firefighter which is $ 1593.56. A special assessment of $10 / mth. has been approved by the membership and will be used to further develop the association. Meetings: Meetings are held monthly and are currently held at The Hall on Gloria Switch Rd. through the kind donation of use by Mr. Dale Dupuis and his wife Janelle. Scheduling is done a year in advance and is subject to change should an event rental occur at The Hall.
