How could it be so much? There are an
estimated 500 firefighters and police involved in this case. If you apply the
estimated lost wages for each officer, and then add pension costs only, the
numbers are clear. These are only estimates because accountants would first need
to calculate where an officer would have been in 1996 if the correct pay
adjustments had been applied annually since 1978 when the illegal procedure
began.

How much has been stolen from each officer? To provide an estimate of lost wages we must look
first at a career officer and what has been stolen and is now unrecoverable due
to laws relating to lost back pay. In particular, you may only recover up to
three years prior to the filing of a wage lawsuit, and all wages from the filing
forward until resolved.
